We are delighted to officially release the exciting development plans of our new expansion. Works are well underway to bring about a complete revamp of our existing shop with a new 5,000 sq. ft. building which will sit between our existing Lighting Shop and our Weafer Street Store. The new development will see our shop increase to roughly 20,000 sq. ft. to better service our loyal customer base who have been shopping with us since our small beginnings in 1979.
The development will also see a complete renovation of the existing shop to create a better flow and customer experience. The Weafer Street Shop will be back open again at the beginning of April, just in time for our Garden Furniture and BBQ's. Following on from that the new build is due for completion in early July.
The new layout of the store will make it easier for customers to browse and freely walk between departments. The addition of a new consultation area will allow us to offer the expertise of an interior designer to work with our customers in providing them with the essential tools when decorating their homes. Feeding into this will be the addition of wallpaper to our offering. Developing on from the success of "The Cookshop" classes with Janette from BlossomBakes and based on the positive feedback from our customers, we aim to offer further classes. These will include upcycling, gardening classes and DIY classes. So watch this space.
Works are currently well underway with the new build as you can see below. The old entrance to the rear of the shop has been demolished to make way for the new entrance and building. It is business as usual though so not to worry, you can still enter the shop from the Car Park. You will now enter through the Garden Shop and a new corridor will allow you to walk between the Garden Shop and Electrical Shop. All stock is still on display with our Lighting Shop now on display in our Electrical. If you are having any trouble finding your way around Bernie or Aidan are at hand to assist.
